Kara Cook received her Bachelor of Science in Education in Physical Education with a minor in psychology from SUNY Cortland. Currently she is working towards her Masters degree in Kinesiology from the University of Texas. After three years of teaching both regular and adapted physical education Kara received her fitness specialist certification from the Cooper Institute and then made the transition into the fitness industry. Kara focuses on modifying programs to fit individual needs. From high intensity very specified programs to low impact generalized fitness education. Kara will help you to succeed through realistic goal setting and training that is both personal as well as challenging.
David Greene holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from SUNY Plattsburgh. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and has developed programs combining traditional and functional training modalities to enhance human performance and function. Specialized modalities include stability ball, medicine ball, dumbbell and vectored resistance.
Julie Hall holds an Associate's degree in Nursing from SUNY Delhi. Julie is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from SUNY Delhi. Julie is currently the Group Fitness Coordinator for HealthLinks. She is a Madd Dog Spinning Instructor, NDEITA group fitness instructor, and IDEA member. Currently Julie specializes her personal training to the individual need of the client. She emphasizes the importance of connecting the mind, body, and spirit. She can hold specialized personal training sessions using Yoga and Pilates methods.
Mary Hansen holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology, Sociology, and exercise Physiology from SUNY Brockport. She has held both staff and management positions in other health and fitness clubs and is actively involved in the development and implementation of our N.E.T Links weight management program. Mary's focus is on improving the health of middle-aged women who have a variety of medical needs. She is certified as a Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Kevin Harkness holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Physical Education Teacher Education from West Virginia University. He is currently the General Manager/Health & Fitness Director at HealthLinks. He has taught at the elementary, high school, and college levels and is currently teaching in the Physical Education department at SUNY Oneonta. Kevin's focus is on utilization of body weight training, functional movements and the use of swiss balls, medicine balls, and stretch cords to assist the client with becoming more efficient with their daily movements. Kevin oversees the MedLinks supervised exercise program at HealthLinks.
Kevin Larmon holds a Bachelor of Art and Science in Art and Biology from Binghamton University. He is certified as an aerobic and fitness trainer through NAFTA. He joined us with sixteen years experience as a personal trainer. Kevin is an avid trainer and uses his enthusiasm to motivate members of all ages.
Ryan Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from SUNY Cortland. He is an American Red Cross Certified lifeguard and NY State Certified pool and spa operator. Ryan oversees the aquatic department at HealthLinks, including the club's aquatic personal training programs, specializing in personalized swimming workings, aquatic fitness, strength training and flexibility.
