Staffed by a team of experts that works closely with patients, as well as their families, the Adult Psychiatric Unit specializes in meeting the unique needs of each individual. "

The Adult Psychiatric Unit treats numerous dysfunctions for adults 18 years of age and over. Patients may be self-referred or directed to the unit by a physician, social worker, or other qualified professional.
The Psychiatric Treatment Team

Each patient is assigned his or her personal team of experts. Typically, the teams consists of a psychiatrist, a social worker, a psychiatric nurse, a mental health technician, and a recreational therapist.

Working together, the team develops a treatment program expressly for the patient: setting goals and working to meet them. At the same time, the patient benefits by working with a consistent, familiar group of professionals, building a positive relationship.

The Adult Psychiatric Unit is able to provide a wide range of therapies, depending on each patient's specific needs. These treatments include the following therapies:

Patients and Families

In addition to working closely with each of our patients, we encourage their family members to participate when appropriate. Certain treatment and therapy sessions can be very beneficial for family members to attend. We also provide support groups on a weekly basis to help family and friends cope with their anxieties, Finally, we assist family members and caregivers with discharge planning, making sure our patients receive appropriate care, at home or in another facility, when their stay with us is over.

Private and Confidential

To ensure the privacy and safety of our patients, the Adult Psychiatric Unit is always locked and is only accessible  with permission.   Patients may be allowed to leave the unit when accompanied by a family member or staff member. Rest assured, we are sensitive to family concerns regarding treatment and confidentiality.
